  1. Hi Robert, I really like your game idea it is different to most thing out there. I think the idea of having the in between of missions as a task is a really cool idea so he travelling doesn't seem tedious. I'm wondering how you plan on doing informational bits as in will you be showing everything in the game or will you be planning on doing some cut scenes. I also think it would be a really cool addition to your game if you some how worked in real life pictures/ videos of the location, one way could be to have a video of the GPO say and its like the screen starts to fade and flicker then goes completely black and you are transformed into the players perspective looking at the GPO. Also I like the style of your DunDoc as it is straight to the point and purely informative anyways good luck with your game!

  2. Hey Rob, just read your GDD and I think its great! I like how you took a different spin on an action game and brought it close to home. I think this game could be really beneficial to players in the way that they will be learning about Ireland's history as they play. There are not many action games out there that take their inspiration from real life events. I think people will really like your idea because it's unusual. I like how your staying true to the events that happened and incorporating them in. I think you have the potential to make this realistic with sounds affects and the right setting. How will you create the setting and background of the game? Maybe there is asset packages on the asset store with building ruins and rubble. Overall, a really interesting game idea and I really look forward to seeing how it comes out!

  3. Hi Robert!
I enjoyed reading your GDD and I really like the idea of your game. I agree with Jamie saying this is a different game to others which is good. The game can be good for players to learn more about the Rising. Your game architecture is done well and you seem to know what you want for your game. I like how each level will tell a particular story during the Rising and players will want to learn more through each level. I'm excited to see the design of this game as I've always felt a game about the Rising would be good. Seeing O'Connell Street and other landmarks in a game will be exciting.Maybe before each level, you could showcase images of the level's event and do a voice over talking about the level's event and then it cuts to the beginning of the level. Looking forward to seeing your final game and good luck making it.

  4. Hey Rob, I liked reading your Doc and I think it's an amazing idea to create a game around the Easter Rising as despite how well known it is within Ireland it's almost entirely unknown outside the country. I think it's notable that you're more interested in the story and game-play rather than the visuals. The HUD is a fairly easy thing to recognise and very common among first person shooters. One game I would reccomend you look at for something like this is called 'Medal Of Honor: Rising Sun'. It's design is similar to what I think you want your game to look like, and the story is more important than the visuals for that game.

  5. Hey Rob,
I really liked your GDD you put a lot of effort into and it gave me a better understanding of your game and what you want to achieve by the end of the semester. I like that each level will be a different story I think that is a really interesting concept to explore and will give the players motivation reach the next level so they can learn more. Good luck wth your game I'm looking forward to seeing how turns out!!!!

  6. Hey Rob! I really liked reading your game design document I can see that you put a lot of effort into it and did your research on 1916 Easter Rising. I like how you went with an educational game and I think the Easter Rising is really interesting to learn about so I look forward to seeing your game when it's complete. I could definitely see this game being played in school as it's a fun way to learn about the subject. The look and feel you're going for sounds really cool with the smoke elements and the dark colour scheme. The gameplay itself sounds simple and interesting. You've a really good visual representation of the type of artwork you're aiming for which is great. I really like the options of players you've included. Does the player unlock these characters in some way? Maybe they could have a points system and unlock these characters when they've enough toys. Great GDD!
